Light Comic Studio is honored to share a major milestone in our journey: the one-shot “Bống Bống Bang Bang” has been awarded the Silver Award at the 19th Japan International MANGA Award.

This prestigious global competition, established by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2007, celebrates outstanding manga creators worldwide and promotes cultural exchange through the art of storytelling. This year’s edition received 738 entries from 110 countries and regions, highlighting the scale and competitiveness of the award.
Being selected among the top works and receiving the Silver Award is a meaningful recognition for our team, and a proud moment not only for Light Comic Studio but also for Vietnamese comics on the international stage.

“Bống Bống Bang Bang” is a short manga that blends elements of Vietnamese folklore with modern psychological storytelling. The story explores human desires, choices, and the hidden costs behind seemingly simple wishes, all told through a subtle, emotional, and symbolic narrative style. The work was written by Vu Dinh Lan and illustrated by Luong Minh Quang, whose collaboration continues to shape the identity of Light Comic’s storytelling approach.
